How to choose cement: grades M400 and M500

The cement grade indicates compressive strength. M400 suits masonry and screeds; M500 is for foundations and loaded structures.

Check additives: D0 means none, D20 up to 20%. In a hot climate choose cement that sets slower and won’t crack in the sun.

Check the production date — cement loses up to 10% strength per month of storage.
