OSB or plywood: what to choose for a subfloor

OSB is cheaper and more moisture-resistant thanks to resins; plywood is stronger in bending and holds fasteners better. For a joisted subfloor, 18–22 mm OSB-3 is common.

If you need a perfectly flat base under laminate, consider FK plywood. Both need a gap at the walls for thermal expansion.
